:: Recording Notes ::
0 - This song was recorded by Alan Lomax from a record. This is a toast song - three leads and nine men in chorus. There is very good accompaniment and the parts are extremely clear. It is named in honor of the man to whom the song is attributed - Vakhtang. These singers are from Makharadze district in Guria. Songs of this type are very popular in Guria. The Gurians sing these songs easily while others do not. [Source: Tape notes]
