1 - This session features a variety of performance groups and styles including: a chorus singing work songs, game songs, fishermen?s wake songs ("striking the barrel? songs); mouth bow (cocoa lute) performances; carnival songs by a carnival troupe; and individual women performing lullabies. It also includes numerous song-stories and interviews. In his field log, Alan Lomax names a number of individuals who participated in this session and (unless otherwise specified by Lomax) they are all listed as "possible" performers.
