:: Session Notes :: |
1 - Recordings made in a small village in La Mancha, near Cáceres Province, on Christmas Eve. Alan Lomax had visited other La Mancha towns in the Ciudad Real region during the summer, and had been told that Lagartera would be a good place to visit around Christmas. Today, at Christmas time in Lagartera, the zambomba (friction drum), which Lomax often commented on, is often replaced by rubbing balloons. [Source: Editor] |
